MC1000 - Setting up remote access privileges

Status and setup information can be accessed remotely either via the network connection (using either the built in HTTP web server or Telnet) or through the USB port. By default, HTTP access is enabled and Telnet access is disabled. Remote access settings can be changed using the MC1000 front panel switches, or alternatively using the MC1000 Interface Application.

Changing remote access settings using the MC1000 time server front panel switches:

  1. Press the SETUP switch to display the 'NETWORK SETTINGS' menu.
  2. Press the LEFT arrow switch twice to move through the menu screens until the 'REMOTE ACCESS' menu is displayed.
  3. Press the ENTER switch to access the 'HTTP ACCESS' setting.
  4. Use the UP and DOWN arrow switches to change the setting to either 'ENABLED' or 'DISABLED'. When the desired mode is displayed, press the ENTER switch.
  5. The 'TELNET ACCESS' setting is now displayed. Use the UP and DOWN arrow switches to change the setting to either 'ENABLED' or 'DISABLED'. When the desired mode is displayed, press the ENTER switch.

To change remote access privileges using the MC1000 interface application, see Controlling the MC1000 via the USB interface and the MC1000 Interface software.
