Updated software versions may occasionally become available and are downloadable from this website. The updated software may include capability upgrades or enhancements, Linux revisions or updates due to changes in time zone daylight saving rules. The MC1000 time server is based around two distinct processing architectures both requiring different software versions (for more detailed information about software upgrades, please refer to the MC1000 user manual).

Updating the timing software:

  2. Ensure that the MC1000 Interface software has been installed and that the interface is functioning between the MC1000 and the PC (learn more - Controlling the MC1000 via the USB interface and the MC1000 Interface software).
  3. In the main window of the MC1000 Interface software application, click on the 'SOFTWARE UPDATE' tab.
  4. Click on the 'UPDATE TIMING SOFTWARE VERSION' button to display the 'TIMING SOFTWARE UPDATE' window.
  5. The current software version will be shown, click the 'BROWSE' button to find the saved new software version.
  6. Select the recently downloaded file (MC1000T_x.x) and click 'OPEN'. The new version will now be displayed in the 'REPLACEMENT TIMING SOFTWARE VERSION' box.
  7. Click the 'START UPDATE PROCEDURE' button. The replacement software will now be loaded into the MC1000 via the USB connection.
  8. Once completed, press 'EXIT'.

Updating the network software:

  1. Ensure that a functioning TFTP server is running on the local area network.
  2. Obtain the updated network software package (MC1000L_x.x) from the downloads section of this website. The files will need to be unzipped and saved into a location accessible to the TFTP server.
  3. Ensure that the MC1000 has a functioning network connection.
  4. Ensure that the MC1000 Interface software has been installed and that the interface is functioning between the MC1000 and the PC (learn more - Controlling the MC1000 via the USB interface and the MC1000 Interface software).
  5. In the main window of the MC1000 Interface software application, click on the 'SOFTWARE UPDATE' tab.
  6. Click on the 'UPDATE NETWORK SOFTWARE VERSION' button to display the 'NETWORK SOFTWARE UPDATE' window.
  7. Enter the IP address of the TFTP server into the 'TFTP SERVER ADDRESS' fields.
