The MSF1000 is an economical radio time code receiver, designed to operate as a low-cost or back-up timing reference for an MC1000 NTP server. The radio receiver may be mounted externally or internally, and can be used in applications where GPS signals are not available.
The Time from NPL MSF radio signal is the UK national time reference broadcast from Cumbria in England, and can be received across the UK and parts of northern and western Europe. The MSF signal, (previously broadcast from Rugby and known as the Rugby Clock) is broadcast at 60 kHz and is controlled by caesium atomics clocks maintained by the UK National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
The radio receiver is supplied with a two pair screened cable for connection to the MC Series master clock. The table below lists the available models and standard cable lengths. If required, this connection may be extended up to a maximum of 150m as detailed in the user manual.
