Time synchronisation error
A time synchronisation error may be caused by one of the following:
- If you have an antenna system connected, this may not be synchronised. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check sync LEDs
- Check sync status screen
- Refer to antenna user guide
- There may be a cabling fault between the MC1000 and your antenna system. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check sync LEDs
- Refer to antenna user guide
Link LED not illuminated
If the Link LED is not illuminated, this may be caused by the following:
- The MC1000 may not be physically connected to the network. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check connection to network switch/hub
- Check CAT5 patch cable integrity
Not responding to NTP requests
If the MC1000 is not responding to NTP requests, this may be caused by one of the following:
- The MC1000 may not be physically connected to the network. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check connection to network switch/hub
- Check CAT5 patch cable integrity
- Linux may not be running. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check network status screen
- The time might not be set on the MC1000. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Refer to Time synchronisation error section above
- If not using an antenna system, manually set local time and date
Unable to access MC1000 web page
If you are unable to access the MC1000 web page, this may be caused by one of the following:
- The MC1000 may not be physically connected to the network. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check connection to network switch/hub
- Check CAT5 patch cable integrity
- Linux may not be running. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check network status screen
- HTTP access may be disabled. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Enable HTTP access
- The PC may be on a different subnet to the MC1000. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Contact network administrator
Unable to access MC1000 via Telnet
If the MC1000 cannot be accessed via Telnet, this may be caused by one of the following:
- The MC1000 may not be physically connected to the network. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check connection to network switch/hub
- Check CAT5 patch cable integrity
- Linux may not be running. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check network status screen
- Telnet access may be disabled. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Enable Telnet access
- The PC may be on a different subnet to the MC1000. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Contact network administrator
‘MC1000 not found’ error displayed in MC1000 Interface software application
An ‘MC1000 not found’ error displayed in the MC1000 Interface software application may be caused by the following:
- The MC1000 USB interface may not have been detected by the software application at startup. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check USB connection between MC1000 & PC
- Check USB cable
‘Communication failure’ error displayed in MC1000 Interface software application
A 'Communication failure’ error displayed in the MC1000 Interface software application may be caused by the following:
- An unspecified communication error between the MC1000 and the PC. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check USB connection between MC1000 & PC
- Check USB cable
‘USB data error’ displayed in MC1000 Interface software application
A ‘USB data error’ displayed in the MC1000 Interface software application may be caused by the following:
- An error checking failure between the MC1000 and the PC. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Check USB connection between MC1000 & PC
- Check USB cable
Liquid crystal display hard to read
If the liquid crystal display is hard to read, this may be caused by the following:
- The LCD contrast may be set incorrectly. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Adjust LCD contrast
Liquid crystal display backlight switching off automatically
If the liquid crystal display backlight is switching off automatically, this may be caused by the following:
- LCD power save mode may be enabled. If this is the problem, you may be able to rectify this by performing one of the following:
- Disable LCD power save mode
